I wanted to do a little something for my daughter since she came over on her birthday. I decided to create a simple olive green and cream tablescape with a hint of coral to showcase some of the colors she likes.

Satin and Cream Tablecloths for a Warm Base
I started by layering a 57×57″ olive green satin square over a cream-colored rectangular tablecloth for a soft, warm base.
The satin square was a simple find at a local fabric store. The fabric was 58 inches wide, and I wanted to keep it easy, so I purchased the same length to have a square. It would be fine without sewing the edges if you don’t mind the fraying edges. To prevent that you could either hem the edges or use zig-zag scissors to minimize fraying.
Cream Platter Centerpiece
To complete the look, I styled a cream-colored platter with just a few thoughtfully chosen items:
- a candle holder to add a warm, inviting glow
- a creamer filled with a mix of coral red and cream-colored flowers to bring in those cozy autumn vibes
- a coral flower twig to add an extra touch of charm
Other Cute Things to Add
The centerpiece did not look quite finished, so I added a couple of small glasses with soft yellow flowers. If I had cream-colored little flowers, I’d have used those, but since this was a last-minute addition, I went with what I had.
As I mentioned earlier, this dinner party was to celebrate my daughter’s birthday; her favorite color is yellow. This color holds a special place in her heart, and these little yellow flowers were a perfect reflection of that. If you wonder why I did not go all yellow. It’s because I have done that more than once in the past. Like her bride-to-bee bridal shower….
What is not shown in the picture are the olive green ribbons tied around the napkins. These ribbons added a subtle pop of color and tied the whole tablescape together.
So there it is — my simple autumn tablescape with olive green, cream, and a touch of coral. Making your table shine on those special occasions or everyday dinners can be simple and inexpensive.
I hope this super simple autumn birthday party table inspired you to make those special occasions sparkle effortlessly.
