A Small Winter Scene for the Entryway

Entryway tables and hall consoles are often overlooked spaces, but they can be dressed up with small seasonal touches for a little extra sparkle.

And I love sparkly and cozy little things. It brings me joy to see seasonal decorations as I enter our home or walk through it.

For our hall table I wanted to create a nostalgic, neutral winter vignette.

Let It Snow - a simple winter vignette. A snowman holding a let it snow sign, a clear vase with snow and a witner stem, framed snowflake art.

Let It Snow Vignette

The Snowman Figure

I bought this charming little snowman for a snowman-themed dinner party I hosted for my husband’s birthday. I created a fun, simple centerpiece around it, and now the snowman greets us on the hallway console table.

A Small Frame

A scrap of snowflake wrapping paper and a soft gray carved picture frame was all that was needed to create a cute winter art piece.

I like using art, scrapbook paper, or storybook sign printables as a backdrop when putting together seasonal vignettes. It is easy and inexpensive. And they also don’t require much storage space.

A Simple Glass Vase with Winter Stem

I use this pretty glass vase throughout the year on this table, sometimes it holds flowers, sometimes a delicate ribbon, but this winter it got a layer of snow and a shimmering winter stem.

Doily

Yeah, I love doilies. Even when they are not cool and trendy. They bring softness and meaning, and behave well as layering pieces. This particular one I made when I was a teenager, which was many winters ago.

Simple Seasonal Vignettes

I tend to like small decoration arrangements that tell cute little stories. Items that are easy to store and swap seasonally. A style that is not about perfection or pressure, but is based on meaning and the guiding feeling, belonging.

A Storybook Note

Sometimes a little snowman holding up a sign is enough to bring a winter hello into your home.
