The Sideboard – The Rose Parlour’s Anchor Piece
When you enter the Rose Parlour, your eyes are first drawn to this piece, the sideboard. It stands under a large mirror holding the seasonal story.
It doesn’t get a full makeover every season. The basic items stay the same while the small swaps whisper, “winter is here” or “spring is awakening.”
The Winter Swaps
When Christmas makes room for winter I give the sideboard a gentle tune up.

Storybook Signs – Where Stillness Lingers
The framed signs, layered into greenery adorned with snowflakes are gentle tone-setters. The larger one (8×10) casually leans against the mirror while the smaller one (5×7) slightly overlaps it.
They are part of the Hush of Winter set I like to divide between the winter china cabinet and this sideboard.

The Blush Pink and Soft White Flowers
For the winter scene, this lovely blush pink vase receives soft white and festive rosegold flowers with a wintery branch tucked in as an accent. The romantic swirled vase is one of my favorites and a regular styling piece in the Rose Parlour.
Soft Winter White Vignette
This cute arrangement gets its winter swaps, too. A white doily, made by my Grandma, creates a whispery, snow-like base for the white flowers in the sugar bowl.

A Glimpse Inside the Sideboard
The sideboard cabinets stay mostly the same except for the small seasonal objects on the lower shelf. There is no need to style everything, just one quiet nod to the season in this hidden space is enough.
